Ukrainian national team followed up their midweek friendly victory over Lithuania with another friendly success over Romania in Lviv on Saturday.
Oleksandr Aliyev gave the hosts a 1-0 advantage after fifteen minutes, but Gabriel Tamas hit back for the visitors after the break and Daniel Niculae added another goal soon after to grab the lead. There were less than 15 minutes of the game remaining when promising midfield player Yevhen Konoplianka brought the scores level. The match was decided by an own goal Romanian defender Tamas on 78 minutes, the player turning the ball into his own net from close range following Shevchenko's shot into the area.
Among those involved were Dynamo defender Taras Mykhalyk, midfielder Oleh Husyev, forwards Andriy Shevchenko and Artem Milevskyy. Another Dynamo player Tiberiu Ghioane came on in Romania’s line-up.
Ukraine's next friendly is against Norway in Oslo on June 2.
