Dynamo Kyiv secured a 2-0 win in the capital derby against FC Arsenal on Matchday 6 of the Ukrainian Championship despite having to play for over an hour with just ten players.
The White-Blues were reduced to 10 men with just 26 minutes on the clock when Denys Harmash was sent off for an unacceptable and aggressive behaviour towards referee Yevhen Aranovskyi. Despite the numerical disadvantage, however, it was Dynamo who opened the scoring eight minutes from the interval. Bohdan Shershun, Arsenal’s defender, brought down Andriy Yarmolenko in the penalty area and referee did not hesitate in pointing to the penalty spot. Dynamo's Andriy Shevchenko stepped up to take the 11-meter-kick and made no mistake.
And, within a minute, Brown Ideye increased his team's advantage after Andriy Shevchenko's long pass from the centre of the pitch put him one on one with Arsenal goalkeeper.
