The Group G leaders Arsenal FC cruised into the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League after snatching victory at Dynamo Kyiv thanks to Nicklas Bendtner’s 87th-minute winner. Now, the White-Blues have to keep their third place in Group G to progress into the UEFA Cup knockout phase.

The resistance was broken with less than four minutes from time. Cesc Fabregas's long pass found the Dane, who fired the ball past Stanislav Bogush. Indeed, Yuriy Semin’s men could have scored an important away goal but could not convert any of their chances. Besides, the Kyivers were reduced to ten men in the dying minutes of the match when Dynamo midfielder Oleksand Aliyev was dismissed for pushing referee Alain Hamer out of his path as he tried to take a free-kick.
