Arsenii Fedorenko: «We carried out everything the coaching staff demanded»

Midfielder of Dynamo Kyiv U19 Arsenii Fedorenko commented on the team’s 2:0 away victory over LNZ Cherkasy:

— We are satisfied with the result. In terms of the game itself we carried out everything the coaching staff demanded. After the match coach congratulated us and said we did well and showed character. Now we will prepare for the next game because for us every match this season is the most important one.

— How difficult was it mentally to prepare for this match after the game against Shakhtar where you spent a lot of energy and emotions?

— No, it wasn’t difficult. On the contrary the victory over Shakhtar gave us even more inspiration and motivation to keep working, winning and achieving our goals this season.

— First-round match against LNZ ended in a 7:0 victory for Dynamo. This time it was 2:0. Do you think the opponent became stronger?

— In my opinion the team has become much better — both mentally and in terms of the squad. They strengthened their lineup. I think LNZ were weaker in the first half of the season.

— Dynamo scored one goal in each half. When the score was 1:0 it was still a dangerous lead. Did that stop you from relaxing?

— Yes, of course. We always play until the end and control the flow of the match. We needed to score more — a third, fourth, fifth goal, as many as possible. We had chances for that. We will keep working to convert more opportunities and score as many goals as possible.

— Tell us about your substitution. Was it related to yellow card?

— I don’t know, that was coaches’ decision. I gave 100% and did my job on the pitch, and then the coaching staff decided about the substitution. I don’t think it was connected to yellow card. But I do need to work on controlling my emotions and avoid such bookings.

— In the next round you already have a match against FC Kolos Kovalivka on Tuesday. Will the preparation change because of the short break between matches?

— Yes, there won’t be much time for rest and recovery. But we have to prepare quickly for the next match. The coaching staff will manage the workload and training, and our task is to go onto the pitch and do our job. It doesn’t matter whether there are two days, three days or a week between matches — we have to be ready.
