Despite the best efforts, Dynamo Kyiv were unable to withstand the Catalan club's pressure and succumbed 2-0 on Matchday 2 at the Camp Nou.

Forward Lionel Messi made the breakthrough for the hosts with a strong shot before substitute Pedro Rodriguez made sure of the points which took Barcelona top of Group F.

Dynamo forward Andriy Shevchenko, who was celebrating his 33rd birthday on this day, had the chance to score in the first half, but his effort flashed over the bar. Other Dynamo player Ayila Yussuf came close to scoring as well, but lacked the decisive touch for a tap-in. However, Dynamo did have the ball in the Blaugrana's net four minutes before the interval but it was disallowed as the assistant referee spotted the offside.

Thus, two goals from two mistakes decided the match and made the winner. With three points from two games, following a 3-1 win at home against FC Rubin and a 2-0 defeat in Spain, Dynamo move into second place in Group F.
