Benoit Tremoulinas got such an opportunity in 2009/10 season and he used it wholly…
Blanc’s thinkings
Benoit went in for football on the model of his father and grandfather. When a kid he attended FC Lormont football school located in his native town. “My father and grandfather played football so it’s our family tradition”. Being 9 years old Tremoulinas entered FC des Girondins de Bordeaux academy. On August 15 2007 he made his debut for his team within Ligue 1. It was a home match against Le Mans FC (1:2).
Ex-Bordeaux head coach Laurent Blanc wasn’t impressed with the main squad newcomer’s play, so next time Tremoulinas took the field on September 20 within the UEFA Cup as Girondins faced Tampere United (3:2). It took Blanc, who used to be a great defender, a whole season to decide whether Benoit Tremoulinas could enforce his team…
Hour of triumph
Early in 2008/09 season Bordeaux had two left backs – Franck Jurietti and young Benoit Tremoulinas. Eventually Blanc chose youth and Tremoulinas became the first team regular. Fans called Benoit “the second Lizarazu”. That season he made 26 appearances and got 5 assists to his name. As the phrase goes good things come in small packages.
The following season Tremoulinas made 50 appearances in different competitions, scored 5 goals and assisted his teammates 9 times. At that time Benoit earned international recognition as Girondins outplayed Juventus and Bayern within the Champions League group stage and qualified to the quarter-final. After that Tremoulinas was spotted by European top clubs.
New challenge
Later Benoit preserved his good reputation despite Bordeaux moderate play. On November 14 2012 he made his debut for France national team as The Tri-colors faced Italy within a friendly match (1:2).
After the end of 2012/13 season Tremoulinas got a transfer offer from Dynamo Kyiv. “I needed some time to think this offer over as it was a very important decision. I wanted to get to know as much about this team as possible”.
Eventually Benoit signed a contract with Kyivans and left Bordeaux. “It wasn’t easy to leave my native club. Never the less I have a strong desire to win new trophies. It’s a new challenge for me”.
It’s important for Dynamo fans that Tremoulinas knows what his aims in Kyiv are. “First of all I want to help Dynamo win as many trophies as possible. As for my personal goals – I want to adapt to new team quickly”. It means that a real professional has enforced our team.
