On April 14, FC Dynamo Kyiv played another charitable game within the “Match for Peace!” tour. These games are played to inform international community about horrible war in Ukraine and to raise funds to support Ukrainians suffering from russian aggressors. After the win against Legia Warsaw (3:1), Kyivans went to Istanbul to face Galatasaray SK.
A lot of people came to the stadium. Unlike Warsaw, where most fans cheered our guys up, supporters at the NEF Stadyumu encouraged their team to attack all the time and often whistled when Dynamo were in possession.
Still, despite the pressure, our team started the game quite actively. Early in the match, after fancy combination Buialskyi sent the ball right into the top corner – 0:1.
That wasn’t satisfactory for the home side at all. Arda Turan attempted from distance, but Bushchan was there. Then Dervisoglu hit the bar.
Anyway, Mircea Lucescu’s men didn’t let Galatasaray score and then increased their lead. Sydorchuk found Besedin with a long ball, Artem entered the penalty area and sent the ball past the goalkeeper – 0:2.
Turkish side had some more opportunities in the first half. Popov blocked dangerous strike by Kilinc, Ozturk attempted after free kick cross, but Bushchan parried the shot spectacularly. Right before the break, Heorhiy didn’t let Yilmaz appear in one-on-one situation.
Early in the second half Dervisoglu hit the woodwork for the second time while in a few minutes Yilmaz performed fabulous strike from outside the box and hit the upper V – 1:2.
Still Dynamo found a chance to score the third one. Kravchenko rushed into the penalty area, passed to Tsyhankov and Viktor sent the ball into the far corner spectacularly – 1:3.
Late in the game both teams exchanged scoring opportunities. Morutan missed by centimeters while Kulach actually hit the target, but he goal was disallowed due to offside.
So, it’s 3:1 – Dynamo win the second math of the charitable tour.
