On April 26, FC Dynamo Kyiv played the fourth match of the charity tour «Match for Peace! Stop the War!» – against one of the German top sides Borussia Dortmund.
Players took the field wearing special shirts with the inscription «Stop the genocide in Mariupol» thus asking the international community to deal with atrocities russhists do in the city at the bank of Azov sea to civilians and soldiers, who’re still there.
A lot of people came to the Signal Iduna Park with many of them holding Ukrainian flags. The atmosphere at the stadium encouraged both sides to demonstrate spectacular football which they did. By the way, the kick-off was performed by Dynamo academy trainee Mykyta Semenov, who had to leave Ukraine because of russian aggression, just like thousands of other children.
Dynamo conceded in the third minute. Reus found Haaland with accurate pass, Erling passed to Bynoe-Gittens and the latter hit the corner – 1:0.
Still the White-Blues managed to equalize quite soon. Shaparenko approached the penalty area, didn’t manage to shoot, but Buialskyi obtained the ball and sent it into the upper V with a fabulous strike – 1:1.
In a few minutes Dynamo stepped in front. Buialskyi passed forward to Vanat, Vladyslav coped with defender and sent the ball past the keeper – 1:2.
Attacking football parade continued. Dortmund side could equalize after corner, but Bushchan parried their player’s header. Meanwhile Dovbyk won a penalty for Kyivans, but Shaparenko didn’t convert from the spot.
Although it was a friendly, Borussia didn’t want to lose at the home ground. Popov blocked dangerous strike by Semic and then didn’t let Haaland score.
The White-Blues coped with the pressure and found the opportunity to increase the lead. Vanat scored quite similar goal, but this time after pass by Sydorchuk – 1:3.
Borussia gaffer made a lot of substitutions after the first half and they rushed forward to gladden their supporters. Bushchan saved Dynamo a bunch of times including the penalty by Reinier he parried. Still in the 65th minute Borussia pulled one back. Rothe headed the ball in after cross into the box – 2:3.
Later Rothe had a chance to equalize, but Bushchan reached the ball and didn’t let it hit the upper corner. Buialskyi had a perfect opportunity after pass from Andriyevskyi, but didn’t score somehow.
Anyway, it’s 3:2 – another Dynamo victory in this charity tour. But what matters the most is that this match helped to raise 400 thousand euro for Ukraine suffering from russian aggression!
