 Brief history

  • 1912: Acquisition of the land by the Sports estate agency. Ten years later, installation of the first football pitch on the site.
  • 1938: Development of the stadium, designed by René Buthaud. The open stands and the combination of modernist and neoclassical influences were an innovation at this time. The stadium was officially opened on June 12th 1938 for the World Cup.
