Before that these two sides faced each other twice this season. The match in Zaporizhia ended in 2:2 draw while in Kyiv visitors won 2:1. Before this game both teams had 49 points.
Home side started the match more actively. Hromov had two decent chances. After his first attempt Bushchan handled the ball while after second parried it spectacularly.
Although the teams acted carefully, the game was quite dynamic. Zoria were better in terms of possession while Dynamo were keeping the lower profile. Anyway, not a single goal was scored in the first half.
As far as it started raining heavily in Zaporizhia, the second half began with delay. Teams had to get accustomed to the wet turf. In a while, referee awarded penalty for Zoria. Shabanov fouled against Tymchyk inside the box and Yurchenko converted from the spot.
Then Hromov could double the score, but Bushchan rushed forward and was the first to get to the ball. In a couple of minutes Yurchenko hit the bar with a spectacular strike! Dynamo responded with three substitutions which turned out to be crucial. The White-Blues goal seemed to be just a matter of time.
And soon it happened. Verbic found Buialskyi, who rushed into the penalty area and hit he corner. Four minutes later Dynamo took the lead. Shepelev passed to de Pena, Carlos entered the box and sent the ball into the far corner.
83 minutes into the game Zoria midfielder Cvek, who made a substitute appearance a bit earlier, committed a rough foul against Serhiy Sydorchuk. After checking VAR, referee sent the player off. Sydorchuk was substituted.
Generally the home side played quite roughly, but visitors managed to deal with that and scored again. Tsyhankov took a free kick and hit the upper V.
So, Dynamo take the second place in the UPL table. On June 22 they’ll host FC Kolos Kovalivka.
