He was the first Congolese to win this award since 1954.

Fight for the place in the sun

Mbokani started scoring a lot as he played in Congo. In 2004 as he was 19 Dieumerci became the best national league striker playing for FC Belyor Kinshasa (16 goals). Later he was invited to another football club from Congo – Mazembe. In 2006/07 season Mbokani went on a loan move to RSC Anderlecht.

At first Dieumerci head difficulties caused by another injury and family drama (his 5-month-old son David died of cardiac distress).

Never the less Congolese player demonstrated his character and concentrated on football completely.

Te next step in his career is a move to Kyiv. “I really want to play for Dynamo Kyiv. It’s a very ambitious club which will definitely play in the Champions league in 2014/15 season. I want to take titles with the White-Blues. Besides I’ll work under such great coach and Ballon d’Or laureate as Oleh Blokhin!”.
