Denys Popov: “It was important to feel the game rhythm”

- Denys, what do you feel now that you’ve played the first game after long break?

- Emotions are positive. I’m glad to be on the field again and play football even though it wasn’t official match. I feel fine, but I think I should keep working on my fitness.

- How were you getting ready for this match? What were you focused on first of all?

- There were no special preparations for this match. We’re just getting ready for the restart of the season. We worked with the ball quite a lot and did tactics exercises.

- Considering the quarantine, do you still have any safety restrictions at the training complex?

- When you have a session on the field it’s impossible to stick to those restrictions. But all the employees wear masks at the training complex, besides we have sanitizers on each floor.

- Are you ready for the game against Shakhtar?

- The game will show whether we’re ready. I guess we’ll start preparations after the day off. Tomorrow we’ll have another session. I think next week we’ll be getting ready for the match. We all miss playing. Even this friendly was long-expected.

- Did coaches have any claims to players today? What did you lack to turn your attacks into goals?

- There were both good and bad episodes. Of course it’s not good we haven’t scored although we had chances. Generally there were no serious claims.

- Do you agree it was important to recall game connections in this match?

- Yes, it was important to feel the game rhythm.
