Dynamo to face Vorskla behind closed doors: arguments of the club ignored

According to this decision, Dynamo must play the next home game against FC Vorskla Poltava behind closed doors and pay the fine equal to 500 thousand hryvnias due to inappropriate behavior of fans at the UPL matchday 14 game against FC Shakhtar Donetsk.

FC Dynamo Kyiv lawyer Dmytro Brif has commented upon this decision:

“The UAF appeals committee has totally ignored all Dynamo arguments. For example they’ve ignored the fact that criminal investigation into article 161 of the Criminal code of Ukraine hasn’t been directed to the court yet. Moreover, not a single person, who could offend against the law, has been held to answer. This means the absence of the event of a crime.

Besides, UAF appeals committee has ignored Dynamo request to make FC Shakhtar Donetsk and Football 1/2 channel demonstrate security tapes and video shot by broadcaster where the incident could be visible.

Appeals committee has ignored the fact that the penalty for misconduct of the kind is only a fine (as far as Dynamo haven’t held accountable for such violations over the last two years).

For that matter UAF disciplinary bodies have ignored principles acknowledged by the European Court of Human Rights. The point is that teams aren’t supposed to be punished with home games behind closed doors for incident that happen at away matches.

An finally, according to general regulations, the appeals committee decision is supposed to come into force in 21 days after it’s received by the club if not stipulated otherwise. But for some reasons, instead of standard decision, the appeals committee has made it clear that the decision comes into force upon its declaration.

Thus the appeals committee has done whatever it takes to make further appeals useless as the game will have been played behind closed doors by that time”.

As you know, Dynamo will face Vorskla on February 22 at Dynamo Stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskyi. Kick-off – 17:00.
