Dnipro against stereotypes
They’ve been talking about the “third force” able to fight against hegemony of Dynamo and Shakhtar for several years already. FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk are considered to be that force, but Dnipropetrovsk side usually lack stability in the decisive stage of the UPL. Eventually last season FC Metalist Kharkiv finished second. Most often Dnipro come fourth.
Still it seems that Dnipro current head coach Juande Ramos is able to break with this tradition.
The majority of supporters and experts think that this season Dynamo, Dnipro and Shakhtar will struggle for medals.
Dynamo centre backs against Dnipro forwards
Dnipro try play attacking football against all opponents. Juande Ramos usually uses the tactical scheme with two forwards choosing between Yevhen Selezniov, Roman Zozulia and Matheus.
The only team which didn’t concede against Dnipro this season are FC Zoria Luhansk. In other UPL and Ukrainian Cup matches Dnipropetrovsk side scored at least once. Thus Dynamo defenders are to face serious pressure.
The White-Blues key centre back Yevhen Khacheridi has suffered an injury, so Aleksandar Dragovic will feature alongside Domagoj Vida (pictured).
These two are still to achieve proper mutual understanding as two goals Dynamo conceded against FC Metalist Kharkiv weren’t unavoidable.
Yarmolenko and Konoplianka against opponents
Leading Ukrainian players Andriy Yarmolenko and Yevhen Konoplianka have much in common.
Both of them are key performers of their teams. In Ukraine national team they play as wingers. Yarmolenko and Konoplianka have good speed, technical skills and shot.
Many European clubs are eager to sign them.
Speaking about Konoplianka, his opponent in the forthcoming match will be Dynamo right back Danilo Silva.
Yarmolenko can switch places with left winger Jeremain Lens, so he has at least two potential opponents: Ivan Strinić and Artem Fedetskyi.
In general the game won’t be easy for anyone and we’ll see exciting match between Dnipro and Dynamo.
