Domagoj VIDA: “I came to Kyiv to win”

Croatian player justifies confidence of the head coach. In the Ukrainian Cup final he netted the decider, which gave Kyivans the first trophy in three years.

- Featuring for Dinamo Zagreb you got used to victories. Is fourth place in standings a shame for you?

- Of course it is. I came to Kyiv to win, wanted to be the champion of Ukraine. This year we didn’t manage to do it, so we must work hard to achieve our aim.

- After Oleh Blokhin’s resignation Dynamo play changed. Did you get rid of psychological pressure or Serhiy Rebrov found proper words?

- Change of head coach has positive impact on any team. Serhiy Rebrov is familiar with training process of top clubs of the world. I think he can achieve success as a coach.

- In the Ukrainian Cup final your shots resulted in two goals, but one of them was netted due to rebound off the defender. Were you upset not to score brace?

- I was happy to score at least one goal (smiling). It’s quite common for defenders to help attacking players when the team takes set pieces. That’s why there’s nothing unusual about my goal. First of all it’s important that we won the trophy.

- You turned 25 in April. Are you satisfied with development of your career?

- I am as today I feature for one of the best clubs in Europe, which has victorious traditions. The only thing I lack is triumph in domestic league. I hope this season we’ll accomplish this task.
