Dynamo 2-1 Vorskla

Yarmolenko’s last-minute goal earned Dynamo three points in a game over the traditional tough contender Vorskla.

As early as in the 4th minute Nincovic picked El Kaddouri’s cross and, turning away, netted the ball into the far corner from 14 meters. Three minutes later, Ghioane did well down the right flank and his cross found Shatskikh. The Uzbek international, although in a good position and left unmarked, was not able to finish the job.

Having recovered from pressure, Vorskla leveled the game with good combinations and ball control. Despite scarce attacking foray, the opponents equalized through Yarmash’s 20-meter shot on 35 minutes.

In the second half, the White-Blues did not leave the opponent’s half. In the 71st minute young substitute Zozulya, having received a cross from Ninković, was brought down in the area. Corrêa’s penalty kick, however, was well denied by goalkeeper Dolhanskyy.

Dynamo rehabilitated with one minute remaining after Ghioane received Corrêa’s cross from a free-kick. Dolhanskyy leaped to parry the ball, only for young Yarmolenko to score a winner in his debut game.

Dynamo are traveling to Kharkiv this weekend for the season’s last encounter to face this and last term’s bronze medalists Metalist.
