Dynamo – Arsenal – 3:2. Match report

FC Dynamo Kyiv clinched a hard fought 3-2 victory over capital rivals FC Arsenal at the Lobanovskyy Dynamo stadium on Sunday to stay within two points of league leaders FC Shakhtar Donetsk.

The White-Blues created a string of chances in the first half and registered two goals through Oleh Husyev and Artem Milevskyy. After the restart, Arsenal came out with more purpose and put Valeriy Gazzaev’s side under severe pressure. Former Dynamo striker Maksim Shatskikh eventually pulled one goal back for Arsenal midway through the second half but Dynamo’s Andriy Yarmolenko re-established the hosts' two-goal advantage on 84 minute with a strong kick into the far corner from about 10 meters. Although the visitors reduced the deficit once again, this last-gasp effort proved too little, too late.
