The match officials have been appointed for the first Match Day of the UEFA Europa League group stage, with Swedish referee Markus Strömbergsson taking charge of the Dynamo Kyiv vs. BATE Borisov clash which kicks-off at 8 pm local time on Thursday, September 16.
Born on 26th April, 1975, Markus Strömbergsson took charge of his first match in the Swedish top league 2005, and received his FIFA badge in 2006.
In Kyiv, the 35-year-old official will be assisted by compatriots Peter Martinsson and Daniel Wärnmark, while Johan Hamlin will be on duty as the fourth official. The two additional referees will be Martin Ingvarsson and Tobias Mattsson.
Dumitru Mihalache of Romania and Miroslav Tulinger of Czech Republic will act as UEFA delegate and referee observer, respectively.
