Dynamo ease past Tavriya

Dynamo ran away with a 3-0 victory over Tavriya Simferopol, with the encounter settled as early as on 5 minutes despite Yussuf, Diakhaté, Nesmachnyy and Bangoura missing in the lineup through injuries.

Three minutes into the game Aliyev, who saw his first start this spring, crashed a free-kick over the goalkeeper into the net. The attacking midfielder kept doing his job well and the White-Blues added an instant second. Aliyev passed onto El Kaddouri, whose cross found Kravets in the box and the striker did not blow his chance to lash a close-range shot.

The hosts then had some good moments as Aliyev, having got the taste of a goal, kept flicking long-range shots, but only for them to be deflected by the goalie. Milevskyy twice threatened, yet yielding no result. Mandzyuk, with his back to the goal, was allowed to fire over the bar after receiving a corner in the center of the area. The confident 2-0 lead, however, provided little attacking stimulus to the reigning Ukraine champions.

The opponents produced a modest response as their best marksman Homenyuk volleyed over the crossbar and Marcovic had an effort from the corner of the goalmouth, but Shovkovskyy sprinted off his line to block.

As the game rolled into the second half, the visitors snatched supremacy, which led to…Dynamo’s third goal. After a 30-meter run, Husyev crossed onto Ghioane’s path. The Romanian, who was left one on one with the goalkeeper, did not blunder.

The goal was scored at the cost of Husyev’s injury and the midfielder was replaced by Morozyuk. Speedy, technically skilled and fast decision-maker, the Ukraine U-21 international demonstrated high potential.

The early second-half goal spurred the teams into attacking football. Shatskikh could have sent the ball into the far post and Aliyev had a good chance from far range, but was denied by the goalkeeper.

Tavriya had a couple of opportunities to reduce Dynamo’s advantage, but Lucky Idahor volleyed past the post and Marjan Marković impeded the ball from getting into the Dynamo goal.

The confident victory has put the White-Blues into a good mood before their trip to Donetsk this Wednesday as they take on Metalurh D in the Ukrainian Cup semi-final second leg. There is only some bad news in the story: Marcovic, Milevskyy and Husyev will join the team’s injury list.
