Dynamo Kyiv earned another confident win on Saturday defeating FC Illichivets Mariupol 3-1. Thus, the Kyivers prolong their unbeaten run in the Ukrainian championship and maintain top spot in the table.
Coach Valeriy Gazzaev made one change from last weekend’s match against Kryvbas, bringing in defender Betão for midfielder Carlos Corrêa.
After a goalless first half, the game sprung into life early in the second period when the visitors were awarded a dubious penalty kick. Luckily, Illichivets forward Ivan Kryvosheenko missed the target, and Dynamo midfielder Miloš Ninković put the home side into the lead just two minutes later. Although the opponents replied through Oleksandr Kasyan on 57 minutes, Oleh Husyev's 15-metre shot restored Dynamo's advantage, and the opening goal's author Miloš Ninković made sure of the points when he scored his second four minutes from time.
The White-Blues dedicated the win to their coach Valeriy Gazzaev, who celebrated the 55th birthday on Friday.
