A last-minute winner from Inter’s midfielder Wesley Sneijder condemned Dynamo Kyiv to a 1-2 home defeat on Matchday 4 and pushed them to the bottom spot in Group F.
Following Barcelona's 0-0 draw with Rubin Kazan earlier in the night both sides knew that three points would put them top of the group. Football fans, who came to the stadium despite the freezing weather and influenza danger, had a great chance to enjoy an enthralling match with fast attacks and counterattacks. Unfortunately, though, it proved to be a frustrating night for the Kyivers as Dynamo conceded two late goals from the Italian side and failed to retain their one-goal advantage.
The White-Blues began well, with Andriy Shevchenko breaking the deadlock on 21 minutes. Dynamo continued to threaten and had good chances to enhance their lead on the counterattack, but fate played a cruel trick on our team. As the final whistle approached, Sneijder found Milito close to the area and the Argentinian’s one-touch shot levelled the matters. The last word went to Sneijder, however, as he was first to a rebound off Dynamo goalkeeper. Stanislav Bogush was unable to gather Sulley Muntari's low strike and although the keeper parried Milito’s effort from the by-line, Sneijder was in the right place to turn in a loose ball.
