Dynamo Kyiv eased to a deserved 3-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk at the Valeriy Lobanovskyy stadium on Sunday.
The visitors went into the match knowing that a win would make them champions with three games to spare, but two goals from winger Oleh Husyev and one from Andriy Shevchenko prevented the Pitmen wrapping up the title in Kyiv.
The White-Blues opened the scoring when Shakhtar’s captain Dario Srna pushed Andriy Shevchenko in the penalty box and Oleh Husyev scored from the penalty spot. Andriy Shevchenko then doubled Dynamo's advantage 17 minutes after the interval before Husyev got his second of the match in the 90th minute.
With just three matches remaining after this weekend, Shakhtar hold an eight-point lead over Dynamo.
