- Jeremain, you used to say your first season in Ukraine was a failure. Are you satisfied with the second one?
- Sure as we’ve become a true team. Unfortunately we lost against Fiorentina, but let’s be honest, we reached quite far in the Europa League. Domestic title and euro cup quarterfinal is a good step forward. I’ve won the Ukrainian Cup and UPL with Dynamo and I’m satisfied with that!
- Dynamo have the same squad as last year, but demonstrate better results. Is this success the desert of Rebrov?
- Yes, that’s his desert too. After he became the head coach foreign players started understanding their duties. Being a performer Rebrov featured in England. He has European mentality. It’s important when you are in charge of international team. Atmosphere in the club has become much better. Foreigners don’t feel as strangers anymore. The team has chosen right direction!
- There are a lot of strange matches in Ukrainian league today when some teams lose by great margin. Don’t you see anything weird in opponents’ play?
- I don’t think someone concedes deliberately. The thing is that the play some teams demonstrate has become much worse.
The Ukrainian league has become less attractive and that makes me feel upset as I’m ambitious player. When I came to Ukraine Metalist struggled for the title, Chornomorets defeated Dynamo, but today these good teams have disappeared because of war. The UPL can’t be called spectacular, so I lose motivation.
- Does the UPL golden medal mean a lot to you?
- I’m really proud of this title! I value every prize. I came to Kyiv to win trophies.
- Was the red card you got in Florence fair?
- I think referee made a mistake. It was a penalty. Still even before that Dynamo didn’t deserve qualification for semifinals.
- Who’s your best friend in Dynamo?
- I can’t say I have one best friend. Still I feel comfortable in Dynamo. We celebrate birthdays, meet at restaurants and spend time together.
- When you joined Dynamo you said you would play here for a couple of years and then move to some top-league. Are you still going to do that or maybe qualification for the Champions League has made you change your decision?
- It’s important that Dynamo will feature in the Champions League group stage. I don’t know what transfer offers I’ll get in summer, but Dynamo have become a really good team and we can perform in the Champions League worthily.
