He had impressive skills, vision of the field and understanding of the game even when a youngster. Still the way of this attacking midfielder to FC Dynamo Kyiv main squad has turned out to be longer than expected. Anyway Yevhen has overcome all obstacles and now he is the White-Blues left lateral.
- You’ve missed a lot due to injury? Could you predict in September of 2014 that recovery process would be so long?
- I really want to forget that. The injury was really serious and I hope it was the last one for me. Recovery period lasted a year and a half. It was very difficult from mental and physical point of view. I tried to return to the field several times, but it turned out it was too soon. I addressed to different specialists in France, Croatia and Serbia, where I had rehabilitation with Andre, who works for Real Madrid CF. They say even Messi consults with him. I fulfilled a great amount of work with Andre.
- What did you feel when you took the field again?
- At first I played for 45-60 minutes. My conclusive return was the game against Shakhtar in September of 2016. The atmosphere in Kharkiv was great.
- You play on three different positions from time to time. Is it comfortable for you to be the right back considering that you are left-footer?
- Being a defender I must follow the line. It’s a bit uncomfortable, but player must be versatile. What’s really important on the field is to think and make right decisions. It’s also vital for lateral to join attacks and put crosses into the box.
- Once in Austria Dynamo CEO Rezo Chkhonelidze stated that you are one of Dynamo three fastest players. Is that true?
- That was about three years ago. One I was among three fastest performers at the training session. Maybe fair wind helped me (smiling). We have players, who are much faster than me.
