UPL. Matchday 11. Dynamo – Vorskla – 2:0. Report

Dynamo approached the game as league leaders being three points in front of FC Shakhtar Donetsk. Vorskla were third in the league table.

Kyivans managed to open the score quite quickly. In the 14th minute Verbic obtained the ball in the right side of the box, passed to Tsyhankov and Viktor hit the open goal.

In the following attack the White-Blues scored again. De Pena hit the bottom corner with well-placed strike. Anyway, upon consulting with VAR, referee cancelled the goal as he spotted that Verbic was offside.

Halfway through the first half Skliar pushed Tsyhankov inside the box, but referee didn’t award penalty. Still in a couple of minutes the score became 2:0. Verbic sent the ball into the net after cross from the left side by de Pena.

After the break Dynamo kept applying pressure, but Vorskla keeper Tkachenko played confidently. Bushchan also had walk to do. For example, he parried the strike by Stepaniuk.

Dynamo had opportunities to increase the lead. Liedniev took a decent free kick, but visitors’ defender saved his team. In a while Vorskla keeper parried a good shot by Tsyhankov.

Both sides finished the game outnumbered. At first Zabarnyi was sent off for the rough foul (referee should have stopped the game earlier as Vorskla player was offside) and then Kane got the red card for aggressive sliding tackle.

So, Dynamo win 2:0 and remain at the UPL top. In several days the White-Blues will face Juventus away.
