Match officials from Austria have been selected to work at the Champions League group stage match Fenerbahçe (Istanbul, Turkey) – Dynamo (Kyiv).
The 31-year-old Austrian referee Thomas Einwaller will take charge of the game. Professionally, Einwaller is a bank clerk. He took up refereeing back in 1992 and was promoted to top division (the Austrian Bundesliga) in the year of 2001. Einwaller received his FIFA badge in 2005. Since then 2005 he has been taking charge of qualifiers for UEFA Cup and Champions League. He was also selected for the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008. Besides, he is on the 54 member shortlist of candidates for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
He will be assisted by his compatriots Roland Heim and Norbert Schwab, with Thomas Prammer, also from Austria, acting as fourth official.
Kazimierz Oleszek from Poland and Volker Roth from Germany have been appointed UEFA delegate and UEFA Referee observer, respectively.
