Exactly one year from now, on May 13, 2027, Dynamo Kyiv - the most decorated and most popular football club in Ukraine - will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its foundation.
On the symbolic “99-year” mark club president Ihor Surkis addressed the supporters of the Kyiv club:
“During this brutal war we must do everything possible to be worthy of the heroism of our defenders, to provide maximum support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and to our fellow citizens.
Today we begin the countdown to 100 years of Dynamo’s history and throughout next year we will work to prepare for this centenary anniversary which is an event of national importance in Ukrainian football.
Concrete plans have already been developed. We are working on many pleasant surprises for our supporters - not only in terms of performances of the club’s teams but also in the social and public spheres, including support for our glorious Armed Forces.
Greatest football brands all began with something that happened for the first time. We also remember and value Dynamo’s very first match, first goal, first medals and trophies and first international successes. Each of these milestones is not just a stage in the club’s biography but also the beginning of a new chapter.
Today, as we launch the countdown to the anniversary, we say: these are only our first hundred years. The club’s history is only beginning!”
