FC Dynamo Kyiv have booked their place in the UEFA Champions League play-offs after a 3-1 win in Belgium on Wednesday night completed a 6-1 aggregate victory against KAA Gent in the third qualifying round.
A comfortable 3-0 first-leg win at home last week had made the return in Ghent something of a formality and Dynamo ensured their place in Friday's play-off draw in style as they struck three goals with only one reply.
Goals from Denys Harmash and Artem Milevskyy either side of the interval put Valeriy Gazzaev’s side in control. And although Gent’s striker Elimane Coulibaly got his team on the scoresheet with a cross header six minutes from time, that proved to be just a small consolation for the host. Moreover, the final word went to substitute Oleh Husyev, who wrapped up the win with a third from Andriy Shevchenko's perfect assist just one minute from time.
