- I congratulate all Ukrainian football fans. This UEFA decision gives my compatriots apprehension of the feast we’ll host.
Considering current situation in Ukraine, holding 2018 Champions League final in Kyiv may seem risky, but as for me, it’s a vector of UEFA policy. Warsaw hosted the Europa League final in 2015, Tbilisi – UEFA Super Cup the same year and Skopje will host the UEFA Super Cup in 2017.
For many foreign guests modern Kyiv is the symbol of new Ukraine. UEFA decision is act of support of Ukrainian nation in a way. Support in our battle for independence, democracy and justice. For our country it’s another chance to present ourselves well to the world.
Our fans should thank Football Federation of Ukraine and President Petro Poroshenko, who’s really interested in development of national football.
Today new page starts in the history of the NSC Olimpiyskyi and Ukrainian football. I’m sure we’re professionals and patriots enough to prove that our country has returned to football field of Europe as ambitious player.
