- How important is this transfer for the team?
- We followed this player for about a year. We wanted to sign him in summer, but Willem II didn’t want to let him go. He had an offer from English Premier League, but didn’t move there. We were persistent and the player really wanted to perform in Ukraine which is quite uncommon today. This is a person who was born in Madrid and played at Real Madrid academy. Of course now we expect goals from him. Our scouts think that he can help us at once. Besedin has health problems. He’ll probably need a surgery, so it’s very important we’ve signed Sol.
- How can you characterize this player?
- He always aims to attack, assists teammates and finishes actions of his team. I hope we’ve signed a player, who’ll score regularly. For example, when Besedin couldn’t play, we lacked a performer, who could do that. I hope Fran won’t need much time for adaptation. I guess on Thursday he’ll join the team at the training camp in Spain.
- How long his contract will be valid?
- Five years.
- There’s still enough time till the transfer window closure. Will you sign anyone else?
- The position of forward was the major one that needed enforcement. We have strikers, but they’re young and we don’t know when they’ll demonstrate their best. Besides, if Besedin needs surgery, it will take him 3-4 months to recover.
Probably we’ll sign or loan more players. We have ambitious goals, so we need worthy lineup. As for other positions, Olexandr Khatskevych doesn’t say there’s some urgency. But if you consider players’ age, that’s a bit disturbing.
A lot of youngsters have gone to the training camp which is great, but the question is when they’ll be able to perform the way we need. On the other hand, if we don’t give them opportunities, they’ll never make headway.
No one could predict that Shaparenko and Mykolenko would perform for Dynamo first team at this age. But today, as far as I understand, coach doesn’t imagine our defense without Mykolenko. That’s how youngsters should progress. Still, we’re definitely staying in the market.
