- Shakhtar were feeling comfortable. We had to use our chances. One can’t create 10 opportunities opposing such team. It was a good game and now we must move on. Though the match wasn’t of great importance, a lot of fans came and I wanted Dynamo to gladden them with goals and worthy play.
- Why wasn’t this game against Shakhtar as spectacular as the previous one?
- Don’t forget that we opposed leaders of our league. Shakhtar have been using the same lineup for years while we have performers, who weren’t with the first team half a year ago. I think we’re on the right track. Our team is being built. I hope we’ll face Shakhtar in the national cup final and we’ll all see different game and experience different emotions.
- It’s been a while since Dynamo defeated Shakhtar in the league last time. What should be changed?
- We must preserve our game structure and fight from the first second till the final whistle. We conceded today, but I think draw would have been more logical outcome. As for changes… Barcelona were leaders for years, but now Real Madrid are. There’s nothing permanent.
- What are you going to apply: revolution, evolution or some particular changes?
- Today we have totally different lineup comparing with the one we had in autumn. Shepelev plays, Tsyhankov made a substitute appearance, Besedin has become the first team regular. We also have two new centre backs. You can’t add five new performers easily. After the end of the season we’ll make conclusions.
- What did you tell the team in the locker-room?
- Nothing special. I just thanked everyone for the game. Players are upset. They did their best on the field. Maybe they lacked some emotions. Still Shakhtar haven’t impressed me either.
- What goals does the team have now?
- We’ll fight for the Ukrainian Cup.
