Ihor SURKIS: “We won’t have a lot of chances in return match, but we’ll have some”

- What did you tell the team after the game?

- I thanked players for the game. They did what they could.

- Do you have claims to anyone?
-
Coaching staff should have claims. They must analyze the game. Players did their best on the field. Of course ManchesterCity have more impressive lineup. Their league is on. Anyway I’m not looking for excuses.

- The team played two different halves…

- That’s true. What we did in the midfield in the first half is inexcusable when we oppose such teams. That’s why Harmash was substituted. It’s better co clear the ball instead of losing it and letting ManchesterCity have counterattacks. I also think at some point our players lost concentration. In the second half we could score more, but so could the Citizens.

- Newcomers didn’t take the field today. Didn’t Dynamo have players able to enforce the team?
- I think it’s great we’ve preserved our squad in winter. I’m not sure newcomers can enforce the team at once. Serhiy Rebrov counted on players he had in autumn.

- President of Ukraine was present at the stadium. Was that your initiative to invite him?

- I’m not sure “invite” is correct word. President found time and came.

- Has President already shared his impressions of the game?

- He said we should hand on. He left the stadium in fine fettle as atmosphere was great.

- What can you say about Dynamo chances to reach the quarterfinal?

- First of all we must be ready for the second part of the season in general and fight to wear Dynamo shirt with dignity. Of course we won’t have a lot of chances, but we’ll have some. We don’t know in what state ManchesterCity and Dynamo will be as they face each other next time. We must score three away to succeed. Anyway we must keep struggling.
