Ihor Surkis, Dynamo President
This is the first game I have enjoyed over the past two years. It’s a vital psychological victory. Postmatch, I personally thanked the players, but I also told them if we had played the same way in the UEFA Champions League, we would not have been put to shame. It is not a crime to concede to Manchester. But saying we had good first thirty minutes and bad last sixty minutes is unacceptable. Players have to remain combative throughout the game.
The club will go through drastic changes in the winter and I would like to apologize to our fans for the Champions League “horror”. I will do all I can to make performance you saw today become regular in every match.
So far, Oleh Luzhnyy has been the sole person who has pulled the team together. I wish him all the best luck. He has enough games ahead to show what he is capable of. If the team carries on playing like tonight, he will be one of potential candidates to fill the post.
Rezo Chokhonelidze, Dynamo Managing Director
Conducting the match in such conditions is not our fault. The referees and UFF observers made their decision not to postpone the match, so the footballers had to play. What did I like in tonight’s encounter? Dynamo is gaining its form, both in terms of fitness and game. Last year Dynamo clinched every possible national title. We are intending to repeat our success this year as well.
