Dynamo vs. Zakarpattya. Post-match press conference
József Szabó, Dynamo head coach:
- Today’s lineup was made up of bits and pieces. Somebody flew from Morocco, the other player form Uzbekistan. Those players who were in Kyiv had intensive training. We created a lot of chances, but failed to make good use of them. If we have one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper, it has to be implemented. We could have conceded a goal as well. Now we are focusing on the 23rd.
- Comment on Bangoura and Diakhaté in today's match. Will they be fit for the game against Man. United?
- Clearly, they are not completely ready. But their desire to play is enormous, which is a pleasure to see for a coach. I intentionally let play both Bangoura and Kléber to see who of the two forwards is quicker and more dangerous. Also, Gavrančić, Ghioane and Husyev were out to be fresh on Tuesday. We have a match scheduled every three or four days. So far, we are not used to this.
- Could you please clarify the situation with Rebrov?
- Whatever the journalists write, I am not interested in it. The only thing I can say is that Serhiy has stretched his muscle and is currently out of the training process. A lot of teams have 20 remarkable players on the roster and they all want to appear in the lineup. The coach has to make a tough choice. They need to understand it is not an easy job to do. It is enough for me to include player X into the lineup for player Y to resent. So I have to explain him that it would be better for him to appear only in one half. It’s a normal thing.
- Dynamo possesses two equal lineups. Why do you not vary the lineups?
- That’s what I tried to do in the game vs. Naftovyk. You probably remember the consequences. The worse thing about this is that before the match I knew we were going to lose. The players were laughing in the dressing room as if we had already won the encounter. I told my guys they ought to respect any team. Before laughing, one should win. Now they are being laughed at. As to the second first lineup, I do not see it.
- Did the limit on the foreign players’ influence today’s game.
- It did. I was against the limit (since this summer, at least 4 Ukrainian players have to appear in the lineup). Now that I am a coach I have even stronger convictions. For instance, today Nesmacnyy had to play, although he had two matches for the national team. It is a good thing that Andriy always plays when it is necessary.
- The motto of today’s match was “Help Mariyka Lislenko”. How did the squad respond?
- We knew about the event. Before the game I said that in case we won, all the bonuses for the game would go the 1.5-year-old girl’s fund (applauds). When calamity comes, we can not stay aloof.

Volodymyr Sharan, Zakarpattya acting head coach
- I congratulate the Dynamo coach on the victory. Opponents’ individual skills are much better than ours. Therefore we chose a defensive strategy. We lack qualified strikers. Another thing is that Videnko and Adalashvili were out of action today. I thanked my guys after the game. They showed much commitment and willingness to fight today.
- Could you please comment on the goalkeeper’s actions?
- Obviously, Babenko did well today. Alas, he lacks stability in every game.
- You chose different tactics in two halves. What does this have to do with?
- The players are functionally prepared. But with the appearance of Bangoura in the second half found our defenders at a loss. In general, I am content with my team today.
