- Carlos, was this game a battle of strategies?
- Sure, victory was vital for Shakhtar and they tried to score. As for us, even a draw would have been a satisfactory outcome, so we played waiting game. We defended and used counterattacks.
It was a good match for us. Shakhtar were mostly in possession, but we’ve won. We’re glad we’ve got three points, but we still have four games ahead and we haven’t won the title yet.
- After initial 15 minutes, when Shakhtar were doing better, Dynamo changed the situation on the field. How did you do that?
- It was vital not to concede early in the game, but then we took the situation under control and started attacking. Of course we also wanted to score. Being in front, we could play defensively. We defended properly and all Shakhtar attempts were vain.
- Did you know before the game you would take the penalty if there’s a chance?
- Usually coach picks penalty takers. I was sure I would score. The shot was really good although Trubin almost reached the ball. I’m happy this goal has handed us victory.

- Yes, we should to do it as soon as possible. We need one more win. Anyway, now we must focus on the Ukrainian Cup. On Wednesday we’ll play semifinal and we must reach the final. Our opponent outplayed Shakhtar, so we expect tough game.
