When game is better than score…

The White-Blues fans may be disappointed with the score, but not with the game their team has demonstrated.

Game aspects

The Kyivans managed to score the early opener. Oleh Husiev passed to Ideye, but after rebound Andriy Yarmolenko got the ball and netted it from the six-yard box line.

Right after that Donetsk side could equalize the score, but Taison hit the bar. Dynamo let the away team feel more confident. The game became very harsh and a lot of players were booked. Lukman Haruna, Andriy Yarmolenko and Danilo Silva got yellow cards.

Before the break the referee Vitaliy Hodulian asked Dynamo winger Yarmolenko to put his kit in order out-of-bounds. Andriy was outside the game for more than two minutes. As he took the field at last, the score was equal after Mkhitaryan’s shot and rebound from Danilo Silva.

Right after the break Yevhen Selin took the field instead of Taye Taiwo.

The best opportunity in the second half had Brown Ideye. Andriy Yarmolenko assisted him and the Nigerian striker hit the bar from the shooting area.

Fifteen minutes before the time Shevchuk crossed to the box and Mhkitaryan scored his second goal of the game.

Key episode

Thirteen minutes after the break Andriy Yarmolenko assisted Brown Ideye who hit the bar from the shooting area. Had he scored, the outcome of the game might have been different.

Top-person

There’s no doubt that Shakhtar's best player was Henrikh Mkhitaryan whose goals were decisive. He has already scored 21 in 22 games.

One of the best among the Kyivans was Domagoj Vida who played confidently for defense.
