There’s no doubt that Dynamo winger/forward Jeremain LENS has deserved that. Dutch player demonstrated his best qualities in Zaporizhia. He actually participated in three goals netted by the White-Blues. At first he assisted Andriy Yarmolenko and then scored brace himself.
Football.ua: “Brace of goals and assist make Lens the hero of Dynamo match in Zaporizhia. Even though sometimes his actions lacked effectiveness final result is above all.
Interesting fact. 9 of 46 Lens’s passes (about 20%) were potential assists and created chances for his teammates”.
UA-football.com (2nd time in all-star team): “After the game against Metalurh Kyivans’ head coach Serhiy Rebrov praised Dynamo left winger Jeremain Lens. Dutch player tore Zaporizhia side defense apart. He scored twice which made him one of the White-Blues top strikers. Dynamo #7 is also the UPL best assistant at the moment”.
Matchday.ua: “Two goals and assist automatically mean that Lens was the matchday most effective player. He didn’t work a lot for defense, but the fact is that fast halfback participated in three Dynamo goals”.
Lens’s colleague-winger Andriy YARMOLENKO also caused opponents a lot of problems.
Sometimes several defenders tried to dispossess Andriy together, but still Metalurh didn’t manage to prevent Dynamo vice-skipper from scoring the opener.
Football.ua: “Yarmolenko wasn’t as effective as another Dynamo winger. He scored only once, but took part in the majority of his team’s attacks.
Interesting fact. Yarmolenko – Lens duo fouled against Metalurh players more than other Dynamo performers. Attacking halfbacks committed seven fouls while the rest of the team – eight”.
Football club (7th time in all-star team): “Yarmolenko keeps leading the way for his teammates. The previous game against FC Karpaty Lviv wasn’t a success for him and the White-Blues lost points. After that Andriy helped Ukraine national team a lot with a hat trick netted in Luxembourg. In Zaporizhia his energy was vital for Dynamo. He opened the score when it seemed that Serhiy Rebrov’s men would have problems again. Today Andriy is the best player with Ukrainian passport!”
Journalists have also paid attention to the White-Blues centre back Yevhen KHACHERIDI, who played confidently despite two goals his team conceded.
Football.ua: “Defenders’ individual skills are of great importance now that the weather is cold and some pitches are of bad quality. That’s why Khacheridi steps forward due to his ability to challenge for the ball effectively. Dynamo centre back helped his team to avoid unexpected problems in the match against Metalurh.
Interesting fact. Khacheridi performed 33 actions playing for defense (28 of them successfully) while Aleksandar Dragović – only eight (six successfully)”.
