Lukman Haruna: “The best way to get a return to the national team is to focus more on my club”

The 2007 U-17 World Cup winner has played at every FIFA World Cup but he’s been sidelined by coach Stephen Keshi.

“I am not disappointed because I’m still young and will play a lot of competitions for Nigeria in the future. I have tasted every level of the national teams but I think I have not enjoyed myself in terms of consistency in the Eagles,” the 22-year-old said.

Lukman is hopeful his new form at Kiev will attract the Eagles coaches to hand him an invite.

“I’m happy because my form’s improving with Dynamo Kiev and I’m back with the first team.  I think the best way to get a return to the national team is to focus more on my club and give my best every week,” Lukman said.

“I am a mature player now, I have learnt a lot and I have the experience and the ability to anchor the midfield. Personally I would like to do more; score goals, get assists and play more often for the Eagles,” he added www.punchng.com
