Maksim Shatskikh voted Uzbekistan's Footballer of the Year

Dynamo’s Maksim Shtskikh carried off the national football award for the year 2007 to add this year’s prize to his collection of three. The winner was named after the survey among journalists was carried out by Uzbekistan Football Federation.

The Kyiv forward, who racked up 286 points, was followed by mid-fielder Server Djeperov of Pakhtakor Tashkent (105 points) and Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk defender Vitaliy Denysov (100 points).

Shatskikh, who was named country’s best player in 2003, 2005 and 2006, is the second person to have won the title four times. His legendary compatriot Mirdjalal Kasimov triumphed in 1993, 1998, 2001 and 2004.
