Maris Verpakovskis: "Hopefully, injuries are in the past"

Yesterday, a friendly game between Dynamo-2 and Dynamo-3 was held. Maris Verpakovskis took part in the game for the first time in a three-month period. Having an injury the Latvian forward went through a physiotherapy program and now is ready to return to action. Maris agreed to answer Dynamo correspondent’s questions after a friendly game.

- This game was the first one after a long period. I haven’t played on the pitch for tree months. Undoubtedly, it was quite difficult for me to play at my full capacity. Anyway I was very glad to take part in this sparring. Hopefully, injuries are in the past.

- You were playing in the front line with Emmanuel Okoduwa. Have you reached mutual understanding?

- He is easy to get on with. It is obvious that Emmanuel is a high-qualified forward. That is why we haven’t faced any problem.

- Are you glad to mark your coming back to the pitch by scoring the goal?

- Yes, sure. I kicked the goal from the penalty spot. It’s always a pleasure to score, even if it’s just a friendly game. But as I was saying, taking part in the game is the most important.

- Have you talked to Yuriy Semin concerning your joining the main team?

- It’s inappropriate time to speak about it. I have played only one game. I was glad to be with the first team in the Austrian training camp because it helped me a lot psychologically.
