Goals from Tiberiu Ghioane and Oleh Husyev earned Dynamo a 2-1 win against Kharkiv opponents FC Metalist on Sunday evening.
The White-Blues went in front after fifteen minutes through midfield player Tiberiu Ghioane. Although Artem Milevskyy was knocked to the ground by Metalist goalkeeper during the attack, the Romanian player was in the right place to score the opener.
Dynamo's second goal came as a result of a swift counterattack. Andriy Yarmolenko picked up a long-range pass but stumbled in the penalty area only for Oleh Husyev to put the ball into the net.
The visitors refused to give up and pushed forward relentlessly. Their persistence finally paid with six minutes from time, when Marko Dević turned in the rebound after Dynamo goalkeeper Oleksandr Shovkovskyy parried Papa Gueye's dangerous kick. By then, however, the outcome of the game had been decided.
The victory means Valeriy Gazzaev’s men stay first in the table.
