Mykyta Burda: “Every day I spend six-seven hours at the gym”

- Mykyta, how do you feel?

- When my leg doesn’t hurt, I feel quite fine, when it does, I’m upset.

- Heel tendon injury is one of the toughest…

- It’s actually the toughest one. I’ve experienced that. The recovery process is very difficult as I spend almost all day at the gym, but the progress is barely noticeable.

- How does your typical training day look like?

- I wake up at 7 in the morning, have breakfast and come to the gym at 8. Then I work out till about 1 p.m. Then I have two hours for different procedures. After lunch I have some rest. About 6 p.m. different kind of work starts that lasts a couple of hours. Then come more procedures (an hour and a half). Generally, I spend six-seven hours at the gym and have procedures for about three hours. After that I have dinner and get ready for sleep.

- Are you in Serbia now? When are you coming back to Ukraine?

- I’ve spent here over two months already. I’ll come back home on December 28 to spend holidays with family, but by January 10 I’ll return to Serbia.

- When will you step back into ranks, according to doctors?

- They’re not sure as heel tendon tear can be of different types. Besides everybody reacts to rehabilitation differently. As far as I know, it takes at least six months to recover after such injuries.

- Are you upset you won’t have vacation this winter?
-  I’m upset I don’t play football. I don’t think of vacation at the moment.
