The date of birth of the stadium is August 12, 1923 when it hosted the First Kyiv Region Olympiad.
FC Dynamo Kyiv played the first game at this stadium on September 9 1945 against FC Dinamo Tbilisi.
On October 17 1961 Kyivans won the Soviet Top League for the first time in their history. 67 000 spectators witnessed this event.
On April 10 1963 during the game between the White-Blues and FC Spartak Moscow fans saw the electronic scoreboard for the first time.
In 1975 those who were lucky to get tickets for Dynamo Cup Winners’ Cup game against Bayern Munich enjoyed Oleh Blokhin’s spectacular goals.
As Ukraine earned the right to host Euro-2012 NSC Olimpiyskyi was reconstructed. Its infrastructure responds all UEFA requirements.
On December 12 2011 FC Dynamo Kyiv signed a five-year contract with Olimpiyskyi.
