- Ognjen, after several years you’re back to Dynamo in new role. Could you please tell about your new profession?
- I’m happy to be back to my favourite club. I’m really thankful to Dynamo president for this opportunity. It’s a very important step in my life. I want to learn something new, work, make headway and continue my career in sports. My mission is very important. I want to help Dynamo achieve good results.
- What are your duties?
- I’ll be looking for talented players in Central and Eastern Europe, in Baltic countries. I’ll be also helping sporting director of the club and head coach. I’m ready to do any kind of work. If it’s necessary, I’ll follow Dynamo opponents.
- Do you miss those times when you were Dynamo player?
- It was a great period. It’s very beneficial for my new work that I know Dynamo system really well. There’re no secrets for me here. I like the way the team works in Austria. The team is young though there’re some experienced players. I like youngsters that feature for Dynamo. They just need some time.
- How promising and reach on talents is the region you’ll be in charge of?
- Players from Balkan countries have always been doing well in Dynamo. They get accustomed to Ukraine and to the team quite quickly. For example, Domagoj Vida performs very impressively.
- Your career of player finished only last season. How quickly did you decide not to continue it?
- I decided to finish career of player as I had problems with my knee. Besides, this year I’ll turn 34. I’m going to get a license at the academy. I’ve entered sports institute. I want to study how football is arranged on the field and outside it.
- So, you’re going to be a football manager, not coach?
- We’ll see. I’ll have to learn a lot, gain experience and work. I’m ready to benefit Dynamo. I want to tell all fans of the team that I’m glad to be here. I hope next season UPL cup will return to Kyiv and the club will perform in the Champions League!
