Oleh HUSIEV: “All is well that ends well” (+ VIDEO)

The event took place upon the initiative of Kyivans Fan-club.

This evening Dynamo Stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskyi conference hall was really crowded. Oleh Husiev arrived right in time. He was met by thunderous ovation.

“I think I’ve never heard louder applause in this hall!” – said the host of the meeting Olexandr Lypenko.

Communication took place in warm “family” atmosphere. At first Oleh was accepted to Dynamo official Fan-club and then – to the Federation of street football. The most unexpected present for Husiev was the Ukrainian flag on which supporters wrote words of encouragement for him.

All photos of the event are available in the White-Blues Fan-club official public in Vkontakte social network.

Please find below the full version of Dynamo halfback’s communication with fans:

- You are Dynamo veteran. What does this club mean to you?

- It’s difficult to explain in a couple of words. I guess you all know my biography. I’ve devoted almost my whole career to my favourite club. There were injuries and defeats. There were also victories, but I wish there were more of them. Still I hope wins are yet to come. Dynamo are not just a team, that’s a kind of family. I really care about the club.

- First of all I’d like to wish you recover as quickly as possible. My question is: do Dynamo need new performers to enforce certain positions?

- That’s not up to me to decide. As for my personal opinion…. Any team needs enforcement. It seems that we have at least two performers for every position, but today small number of players worked at the training session for different reasons. In this situation enforcement is necessary. I think our attack is fine, so attention should be paid to defense.

- What traditions exist in Dynamo?

- We don’t make newcomers sing. There’s a tradition to give gifts, shirts on birthdays. There are also many superstitions… The main tradition which must be resurrected is to be champions.

- They often call you a veteran. How long you can perform and gladden supporters with your play?
-
I hope I’ll play at leas as long as my contract is valid. After that I’ll be glad to keep doing my best for the team if I have no health problems and if the club needs me. As for the definition “veteran”… Unfortunately they consider players who are 30 to be old in our country. Personally I don’t feel old. This year Franck Ribery, who’s already 31, was a pretendent for Ballon d’Or. Still nobody says that he should finish his career.

- One of Ukraine national team Euro-2016 qualifiers opponents will be Spain. How do you estimate the Yellow-Blues chances for qualification for European contest?

- Frankly speaking I think we have really good chances. First of all two teams will qualify for the tournament without playoffs. Secondly, as for me, today our national team has very good squad with a lot of talented players. I’m optimistic about qualifiers and Euro-2016 in general.

- Do you remember the first match in your life?

- It was a match within the regional competition. We won and I managed to score.

- What are you going to do after the end of you football career?

- I don’t have plans yet. Being a head coach seems to be a thankless job. As for the work of assistant coach, I think I won’t stand that for a long time because of peculiarities of my character.

- It’s commonly known that you play billiards rather well. Another fan of this game used to feature for Dynamo – Ivan Yaremchuk. Did you ever play against him?

- I met him in front of the table, but we didn’t play. Anyway I think he plays well. He saw me at the game against Metalist and asked why I don’t come over. I answered: “There’s no time, knocks on the head etc…” (laughter).

Anyway our match will take place soon and I’ll announce its outcome.

- How do you feel? Do you have a grievance against Denys Boiko?

- I took part in the training session today, everything is fine. I work without any restrictions. Only my jaw hurts a bit. As for Denys, I think he’ll make his own conclusions. He has apologized to me, but I think he should have apologized to my parents, wife and child. Anyway all is well that ends well. I wish Denys good health and all the best.

- Is there a team in Ukrainian Premier League, except Dynamo, you support or respect?

- Of course there is.

- What team is that?

- How do you think? Dnipro (applause). We have good relations due to friendship between supporters and players. Many performers, who used to feature for Dynamo, play for Dnipropetrovsk side now and vice versa. We also play together for Ukraine national team. Besides in light of recent events they’ve become even closer to me. I’d like to thank them for their brave deed. It’s difficult for me to recall that episode, but I want to express thanks!

- Are Dynamo able to win the Ukrainian Cup this season?

- We have a chance and we’ll do that. There’s no way back. We haven’t won trophies for a long time already. First of all we must outplay FC Chornomorets Odesa. I hope many fans will come to support us. If we defeat Chornomorets we’ll be more likely to face FC Shakhtar Donetsk in the final and we’ll have no other choice but to win.

- What qualities must Dynamo players possess? What qualities do you appreciate in people?

- First of all I appreciate decency and loyalty. One mustn’t betray. It’s always necessary to stay human. Good example is the deed of Dnipro players. They acted like real men.

What qualities must Dynamo player possess? I guess that must be a person able to help Dynamo become one of top clubs of Europe again. Player must have proper speed, shot and thinking.

- Why do some players, mostly Ukrainians, come up to ultras after every match and some do that only sometimes?

- Ukrainian players really understand what team they perform for. Newcomers have different attitude. Someone is upset because he was substituted 60 minutes into the game, someone because he didn’t get a pass. After that they don’t think that they should come up to supporters. Still I didn’t notice someone refusing to do that after recent wins.

Not everyone has enough courage to come up to fans after defeats.

- When will you be able to play?

- That’s up to Oleh Blokhin. I guess I’ll go to Lviv with the team, but I don’t know whether I’ll take the field. Anyway I guess I’ll definitely be on players’ list as we face Shakhtar.

- Football players have a tradition to swap shirts. What is the most valuable one you have?

- I have very big collection. It consists of more than hundred shirts. All of them hang together. I don’t have any priorities in this case.
