- Our main task is the preparation of players that meet the requirements of Serhiy Rebrov and Dynamo U-19 and U-21 Spanish coaches. We work on that and I think we’ve made some steps in the right direction. Today we have some performers, who’ll be able to join aforementioned teams soon. I’m sure that Dynamo school Ukrainian trainees will be a good enforcement for us.
- Spanish coaches from the main squad and reserve team also contribute to the work of Dynamo school. Does that give positive results?
- It was a systematic cooperation. We’ve studied Dynamo U-19 and U-21 practices. Vicente Gomez, Yuriy Moroz and Yuriy Len worked with our players and coaches Wednesdays and Thursdays. We’ve got enough information we’ll use. Spanish specialists’ requirements are quite tough, but today we have many coaches, who used to be players not long ago. They think on their feet. All that will help us to prepare technically and tactically skilled performers.
- Has work of Dynamo school changed since Serhiy Rebrov took charge of the main squad?
- First of all it should be mentioned that Rebrov is a coach of new European formation. Figuratively speaking I’m a Soviet Union product and several years ago I wasn’t sure I would be able to work with youth, but after I visited leading schools of Europe in realized that I like that. As for Serhiy Rebrov, I’m glad that we’ve understood each other without words. I’m talking about the necessity of coaches’ studying aimed for modernization of training process. The head coach must know about promising performers featuring for U-19 or U-21 team. I believe that cooperation of the first team and academy will be productive. Football school is a section that must work the way main squad does. We’ve decided that four players from our senior group will work with U-19 and U-21 teams every fortnight. That will help them adapt to grown-up football.
- Today there are a lot of young coaches in Dynamo school, who were players not long ago: Venhlynskyi, Dmytrulin, Yashkin, Radchenko, Kostiuk, Sytnyk and other. What can you say about their work?
- It’s too soon to estimate their work. Still I guess it was difficult for older coaches, who were about 60, to follow the modern training process. They had to realize that players have changed and they were supposed to look for different approach. Eventually it was decided to give young specialists a chance. Today methods of our work differ from the ones we used 10 years ago.
- Do you analyze the main squad matches at Dynamo school?
- Of course we do. We look to the first team. For example if we have two attacking midfielders we want them to finish attacks, rush into the penalty area. That’s what Belhanda, Sydorchuk, Rybalka and Harmash do. If player doesn’t fulfill his tasks he goes to the bench. We all remember that Belhanda missed two matches as his effectiveness reduces, but after that we saw good old Younes again.
- Is the example of Mykyta Burda a good motivation for U-17 and U-19 players? He joined the main squad even without training camps with the first team.
- Sure. I think today our coaches are able to get performers ready for the main squad requirements. There are some problems, but we realize that centre back must be also able to play as lateral, for example.
