In the first half home side made Mykhailo Fomenko’s men play slow game, so our team had few scoring opportunities.
After the break the situation was the same up to a certain time, but 59 minutes into the match Serhiy Sydorchuk put a cross into the box, Zuta blocked the header of Andriy Yarmolenko with his hand and Yevhen Selezniov converted from the spot.
Macedonia rushed forward and the Yellow-Blues created more chances. 86 minutes into the game Artem Kravets scored in one-on-one situation.
Still Ukrainians have two losses. Yevhen Khacheridi and Serhiy Sydorchuk were booked and they’ll miss the match against Spain in Kyiv due to suspension.
Despite victory Andriy Yarmolenko isn’t satisfied with the game: “We mustn’t play this way. First half was a disaster. If we perform this way against Spain things will be difficult for us. We must analyze our mistakes and never make them again”.
Another FC Dynamo Kyiv player Serhiy Rybalka has stated: “Before the break we had big gaps between lines. After the first half coaching staff told us to move forward”.
Artem Kravets is already focused on the last qualifier that will take place on October 12 at the NSC Olimpiyskyi: “Spain are not Macedonia, but I think we can defeat this team. Anyway first of all we must recondition both physically and psychologically”.
