Last football season wasn’t successful for Dynamo defender Pape Diakhaté. He had to miss almost a half of the season because of his injuries. At present the Senegalese footballer takes part in Dynamo’s training session in Austria and claims that he is full of strength to start a new season.
- Pape, how did you spend your summer vacation?
- Actually I had to participate in the matches for my national team. That is why my vacation wasn’t very long. I was on leave only for a week. So I decided to stay in my homeland and devoted this time to my family.
- Did you miss your Dynamo fellows during your absence?
- Definitely. I always miss my Dynamo partners when we don’t see each other for a long time. I have many friends here and I can say that I’m in love with Kiev. To my opinion it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Every time I try to come back here as soon as possible.
- What can you say about your national team performance in the qualifying round of the World Championship?
- Many young football players made their debut for our national team this year. I would say that our performance was very successful. We are taking first place in our group at the moment. I consider we have a great chance to qualify for the World Championship.
- Have you already met your new team partners?
- Yes, of course. They are well-qualified footballers to my mind. I’m sure they’ll help us to perform better in the next football season.
- This summer Dynamo club has sigh a contract with Betao, a player from Brazil. What can you say about him as a defender?
- Betao has very good technical skills. It goes without saying that he is very good football player. We’ll do our best for him to feel comfortable in our team.
- Last season wasn't successful for you. Injuries, unstable playing… What do you expect from this season?
- I expect this season to be luckier for me. I hope to avoid injuries and to show my worth in Dynamo.
