In the morning the first group of players had scheduled medical examination. Meanwhile new head coach Mircea Lucescu took part in online press conference together with Dynamo president Ihor Surkis.

In the afternoon the team gathered at the training complex to have the first session under the charge of new coach. Before it started, Ihor Surkis presented Mircea Lucescu to the team. But first of all he congratulated him on his 75th birthday what was the day before.

On behalf of the team captain Serhiy Sydorchuk handed Lucescu Dynamo shirt with number 75 on its back. Mircea Lucescu jokingly said that the best present for him would be the league title this season.

“I’ll translate you what Mircea has said, – told Ihor Surkis. – He wants trophies. But not for himself. He wants them for you! I present you your new head coach. You know him very well. Many of you remember how he defeated us. And now he’s come to help us win. He needs your will to work properly and turn this work into certain results. If you don’t succeed with this coach, then I guess we’ll need to replace all of you. Good luck!”

Then Mircea Lucescu took the floor:

“I’m happy to return to Ukraine and to join FC Dynamo Kyiv. I need some time to get acquainted with all of you. You all start with the same level. I want each of you to do his best to make it into the starting lineup. It’s all about your attitude to football. I know I see talented young guys in front of me, who haven’t unlocked their potential yet.

Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today. Time flies so fast. Start getting ready for great battles today. What matters to me is our communication. We need to find the common ground.”

Then Mircea Lucescu presented his coaching staff: Oleh Husiev, Ognjen Vukojevic, Emil Caras and Diego Longo.

Then Romanian specialist announced the plan for the training session.

After warm-up players got to work. The team did exercises with the ball and jogging in turns. By the way, goalkeepers also took part in running and squares exercises.

22 outfield players and 4 goalkeepers took part in the session. Mykyta Burda worked individually. Benjamin Verbic had a surgery in Munich yesterday. Akhmed Alibekov, Olexandr Tymchyk and Bohdan Liedniev, who’ve returned to Dynamo after loan moves, also participated in the session.

The session was quite long. It lasted about two hours. Eventually Mircea Lucescu thanked the team and announced the plan for the following day.
