This club was founded in 1916. Legia are one of the most titled teams of Poland. Throughout their history they won Ekstraklasa 10 times, Polish Cup – 16 times, Ekstraklasa Cup (2002), Polish Super Cup – 3 times and Intertoto Cup (1967).

In 1970 Legia reached the UEFA Champions League semifinal, but lost against Feyenoord.

In 1991 they were defeated by Manchester United in the Cup Winners’ Cup semifinal.

Nowadays Legia head coach is Henning Berg.

He took charge of the team in 2014.

As for the squad, Legia have both young and experienced players.

Special attention should be paid to right back Bartosz Bereszynski, midfielder Ivica Vrdoljak (team captain, pictured), halfback Miroslav Radovic, FC Nantes trainee Jakub Kosecki and Georgia international Vladimir Dvalishvili.

Legia are leaders of Ekstraklasa after 21 matchdays with 43 points.

Polish team will face FC Dynamo Kyiv on February 8 at 17:30 (Kyiv time).
